THE NERIDAH PRACTICE has been established by Stuart Stawman and Sally Brooks who also run a successful psychotherapy practice on the Northern Beaches of Sydney.  Stuart, Sally and the independent clinicians who share our premises in Chatswood Village bring commitment to a high level of quality care for our clients.  The clinicians at The Neridah Practice are highly trained in a variety of clinical approaches, for example, cognitive behavioural therapy, self psychology, psychodynamic and Gestalt therapy and offer expertise with problems such as depression, anxiety, addictions, weight loss and management, self-esteem and confidence, living with chronic illness and issues confronting caregivers.  We also offer expertise in the workplace and organisation arenas.

STUART STAWMAN

Having originally trained in London, Stuart has 20 years of clinical, teaching and supervisory experience.  He continued his training in Australia and is now a Member of ANZAP (Australia & New Zealand Association of Psychotherapy) a Clinical Member of GANZ (Gestalt Australia & New Zealand) and a Clinical Member of PACFA (Psychotherapy & Counselling Federation of Australia); Stuart has had several journal papers published.  He is a member of the ANZAP Executive Committee, a member of the GANZ Ethics Committee, and past member of the Peer Advisory Committee at South Pacific Private Hospital.  With experience teaching at Masters, Graduate Diploma and Bachelor levels, he continues to lecture on a number of psychotherapy trainings.  Stuart works with a broad range of issues within both short-term counselling and medium/long-term analytic psychotherapy, as well as facilitating psychotherapy groups for psychotherapists.

SALLY BROOKS

B.Ed(Hons); Master Gestalt Therapy (La Trobe); CM GANZ

Sally originally worked in high schools in the UK largely populated with socially and culturally disadvantaged children. Emigrating to Australia, Sally has since obtained Graduate Diplomas in Counselling and Psychotherapy and in Gestalt Psychotherapy and completed her Masters in Gestalt Therapy in 2005. Her experience in the psychotherapy field spans more than 10 years and, as well as private practice, has included facilitation of therapy groups and academic faculty membership at the Jansen Newman Institute where she taught Human Development and Personality Type at Bachelor and Graduate Diploma levels.   Sally is now faculty member of Gestalt Practitioners Training Sydney (GPTS), having also been a casual academic at UWS to Bachelor and Graduate Diploma levels in counselling (2003-2006).  She is a Clinical Member of GANZ (Gestalt Australia & New Zealand) and a Clinical Member of PACFA.
